Credit increase

August 29th, 2009 at 08:42 am

Got a letter from Chase that they raised my credit limit from $7000 to 10,000.

They really want me to spend some money.
It really doesn't matter cause I always charge basically the same things and pay them off when I get the bill.

Wow!! I didn't realize they actually INCREASED credit limits. Just looking for the next sucker are'nt they?

Yeah but I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid. :-)

Hmmm... could be a good sign in the credit industry. They aren't going to raise anything for me, but I do have 4 cards with them. They've extended me plenty of credit across the board - I only use 2 regularly. One is grandfathered in with old terms of 5% gas/grocery/pharmacy. Smile
At least a higher CL will just make your utilization look better. Nothing wrong with that at all!

Thanks dmontengrey. Yeah I think overall it is a good sign.

Well whadda ya know, I was wrong! I just logged in and see that Chase bumped one of my accounts from $10000 to $13000. Interesting. The worst that card usually sees is around $1000 a month. More often than not lately, it's been under $400. Thanks Chase! Smile

Good for you dmontengrey. Maybe its the Credit cards version of a stimulus package that they are uping credit limits.

Teehee. The credit card companies HATE guys like you! That is awesome! Let them raise that credit line to the roof, you still will pay it off each month even if it leads them to offer you the moon. If you can use the credit cards, and not let them use you, it offers you some of the best financial insurance in the world. Keep it up!
    Jerry

Thanks Jerry. You are right that they could offer me the moon and I'll just stick to what I'm doing.
