a small goal achieved

January 7th, 2008 at 07:22 pm

Well I opened up a sub-account on ING for a car fund. Thanks for everyone that helped me figure out how that works. It was actually very simple once I had the info. I needed.
I only put $10 in there but its a start and its a fairly long term ongoing goal. Plus I still have that first seedling $1
making my car fund a whopping $11. TADA!

And I opened another sub-account for medical purposes. Its basically in case any big medical or dental bills come up in the more distant future. I also funded that with $10.

When I get paid this week I will put a little into my E-Fund but most of the check will go towards my 2008 IRA contribution. I normally put in 3000 and thats what I had planned on doing this year. But, with reading so many great goals on this website I decided I'm going to try to put $4000 in the IRA this year.
Right now I'm about half way saved up for that. So for the next couple of months my big focus will be on saving up for my IRA. Then I might be able to save more into my other funds after that.

Ohhh one other thing. I'm supposed to get another bonus from my job next month sometime. Its approx. $394.
That money will go into my travel fund. I don't get to travel as much as I would like to but its one of my top priorities in life. I went to Romania (to visit with Dracula)for Halloween 2006. It was such a blast I think I'm going there again for this year's Halloween. I have a couple of other possible options but whenever I think about that last trip I want to go back again. Its one of the most fun and interesting places I've ever been to.

Well thats all I got for now. I hope everyone has a good day.

Question about ING

January 3rd, 2008 at 06:40 pm

I want to open a second ING savings account. I want to use it to start my car fund that I talked about in an earlier post. I'm just not sure if ING allows 2 of the same kind of savings accounts or not? Especially if I fund it from the same personal checking account as my current one. I think I can do that but its not very clear on their website.
I was also considering using their Electric orange checking account instead of another savings. But I don't really need the features of their checking and the Savings pay more.
If anyone knows about ING Savings or has any better advice for me please let me know.

Thanks.
