MIA

June 28th, 2010 at 04:51 pm

Yeah I've been missing in Action for a good month or more. Since I don't blog a lot most of you probably didn't notice.

I don't have a good excuse really. I was somewhat keeping up with everyone elses blogs but fell way behind on that. I don't really like this site as much since they changed the format a couple months ago. It
somehow makes it harder for me to follow.

Anyways financially things are going pretty well. My hours have improved at work and it seems like I have been having extra money lately. So thats good. Also I think i'm quite a bit ahead on my goals for the year. I just haven't been keeping a very good track on it.
I even have a couple hundred dollars saved so far for eventually taking a trip to Antarctica. It will be a while before I get to do that. But ya have to start somewhere.

The bad news is that my boss at work truely does hate me and I know she would love it if I were fired. She also gave me a lecture the other day that me and the other person in Toys don't do a good enough job. They are also starting a lot of new stuff that is very hard to get used to. I'll probably survive but I'm really in a struggle to keep my job. I spend more time at work explaining what I'm working on to various
bosses and looking for equiptment to do my job than actually working. There is literally sometimes 4 or 5 bosses running around and only 1 or 2 workers. The bosses usually wont help customers but run over to me and tell me to help. So i might have to sell bullets and mix paint at the same time. Its very frustrating.

Well thats all I have to update for now. I hopefully can start my payday updates on here again cause it does help me keep focused on my budget.

I remember you! I'm sorry to hear that work is getting so tough. But a trip to Antartica sounds crazy! Cant wait to hear about it.

For what it's worth, I typically use the bookmarked "All Entries" tab, which has remained roughly the same.

Thanks Gamecock. I'm actually going to Scotland on vacation next year. I'll talk a little more about that on my next post. I think it will take me about 5 years from now to go to Antarctica. So you have a long wait. LOL. But its kind of a long term goal and something to look forward to for me.

Thanks again Gamecock. You are always very kind.

Thanks BA. Yeah thats what I started doing and it does make it a little easier. There seems to be less entries on each page though. So I have to keep clicking on "older entries" and it seems to take forever on my dial up connection. I think I'm back though and will keep up at least for awhile.

Welcome back! I have been MIA too for various reasons. Looks like we need to make some goals and keep posting about them. Your 2010 goals are still "coming soon". I have to go make some!

Re the Boss thing... your Boss has be careful not to harass you... In Ireland anyway, the Employee has a lot of protection from overbearing bosses.

Just because she is your boss, doesn't give her the right to treat you with disrespect.

Maybe you could look up state/federal labour laws and don't be afraid to mention them to her is she's gets in the habit of crossing the line !

I hate seen nice people being walked on by others due to their, well, niceness. Niceness is a virtue not reason to walk all over someone in my opinion.

God knows what your Boss's real agenda is (not doubt to make HER look good to her Boss) but as long as you are an employee of that company, you're entitled to treated with respect.

Welcome back - I missed you. Its tough when the boss hates you, and when there are far more chiefs than indians. My sister was in the same situation with her "stupervisor" and left, not necessarily something that you can do.

Thanks Boomeyer. I did make a list of my goals but never posted them on here.
I was hoping to add a couple more to my list but the ones I did make are coming along well.

    Thanks Ima, Bliss and baselle.
Baselle you said it exactly right about more chiefs than indians. And Bliss they do have laws like that here but they aren't enforced very well. And it comes down a lot to her word against mine. She has had issues with a number of other employees but the higher ups seem to be scared of her.

I was thinking the same thing about the chiefs and indians... you can't have that many bosses trying to lead not enough staff! Ridiculous. On a better note, though, I think that a trip to Antarctica would be the best. There isn't any insurance that it will be around for coming generations, anyway!

Thank You Jerry. They are also at a stage where they don't care if we like it or not. They say you just
have to get used to the everchanging retail environment. Hopefully things smooth out over time or they wise up to their mistakes. Although it wont be anytime soon.

Antarctica is expensive and will take me a long time to save but I think it will be worth it. And I do think if I wait too long that there will come a time when they don't allow tourists there anymore. So I really do have to save for it now.
