Still single, 45 year old, male in Ohio. I'm "the toyguy" because I work in the toy dept. of a large retail store.

I'm going to post some of my new goals as I come up with them. I constantly alter and tweak my goals as circumstances change.

2008 Goals:
- Continue using Quicken to keep my checking and other accounts in order.
- Save at least an additional $400 into my
E-Fund (DONE) which currently has $1,200 in it. My overall goal for E-Fund is $12,000.
- Slowly work on building up a car fund. (VERY SLOWLY)
- Save enough into Travel Fund to take a good vacation in October. (Saved enough money but cannot travel this year)
Save $4000 for 2009 IRA contribution.
- Continue my "Paper (clutter) Challenge"
- More to come as I think it over.

Question about ING

I want to open a second ING savings account. I want to use it to start my car fund that I talked about in an earlier post. I'm just not sure if ING allows 2 of the same kind of savings accounts or not? Especially if I fund it from the same personal checking account as my current one. I think I can do that but its not very clear on their website.
I was also considering using their Electric orange checking account instead of another savings. But I don't really need the features of their checking and the Savings pay more.
If anyone knows about ING Savings or has any better advice for me please let me know.

I believe that they allow what is called sub accounts. Someone else on this forum has spoken about that. You can call them and see what they offer.

We have 4 savings accounts with ING--each was a referral off of the other.

ING will let you set up a bunch of subaccounts that are all funded by the same bank account.

All you have to do to set up a subaccount is click "Open Account" which is on the upper lefthand side when you are signed into your account. It will ask you to give it a nickname (if you want to) and then tell it where you'll start funding it from (easiest way is to just transfer an amount from your already existing savings account.)

I just did this yesterday, and now have a total of 4 subaccounts and Electric Orange.

Ohh thanks everyone for the help. I'm going to give it a try. It will make saving for a car fund a lot easier.
